Using Virtual Drumline 2.5 in Sibelius 6 has reached a level of seamless integration. To get the best mileage from these advanced music creation tools, it's crucial that the sound set and percussion maps used within Sibelius are customized specifically for VDL. This product contains all the tools you need for outstanding performance using VDL within Sibelius 6, while adding more features than in any previous template we've offered for Sibelius!

 

*TEMPLATE UPGRADES

• Template version 6.0a now includes compatibility with VDL 2.5.2 library update. (Added April 6, 2010 - if you're purchasing the template after this date, there's no need to update.)

• If you previously purchased the 5.2.5 template, it will function fine within Sibelius 6 with this one exception. Due to the already low pricing on these time-intensive template products, upgrade pricing from template 5.2.5 is not available.

• If you previously purchased the v6.0 template prior to April 6, 2010, you are eligible to upgrade to the 6.0a template at no charge. Simply select "Update," and include the original Order ID for the 6.0 template purchase. If you aren't sure, log in to your account, then navigate to your Order History. When you place your order, we'll verify eligibility and process the upgrade (within two business days), at which point you'll receive a download link to the upgraded template.

 

SINGLE-USER LICENSE

This item is downloadable only and is being offered for sale as a single-user license. What this means is that once you've purchased it, you are welcome to use the included files on any of your projects (without needing to re-purchase the template), but they are not allowed to be shared with other users who haven't also purchased the template. • VDL SoundSet 6.0a - This sound set is the gatekeeper of all the functionality built into the template. Once installed, simply assign this sound set to your active instances of Kontakt Player, and Sibelius will automatically load your Virtual Drumline sounds without any extra technical tweaking necessary!

• VDL Template ReadMe 6.0a - This is your bible of how the template and sound set operate within the Sibelius environment. It covers all aspects of controlling keymaps, noteheads, dictionary text, and much more. The information in this document will open doors to the true power of Sibelius.
  
  
• VDL Keymaps 6.0a - Newly added for version 6, this PDF file contains graphical keymaps of all instruments in VDL, giving you a visual overview of which sounds are assigned to which pitches on your MIDI keyboard. Also includes interactive "hover" functionality* showing new input variables feature.

• "Trigger Test" files 6.0a - This is a collection of files that allow you to test your VDL/Sibelius configuration to ensure you have it set up properly.

What's New in VDL/Sibelius 6 Template

• Template version 6.0a is now fully compatible with VDL Library update 2.5.2
• All Right/Left paired sounds now have a consistent, similar notehead scheme. This improves copy/paste functionality between instruments.
• New Input Variables feature provides added flexibility when inputting music to several instruments. Depending on how you like to work, it may not require as much need to alter notehead numbers when working without a MIDI keyboard. Simply add pre-defined articulations to basic note entries to achieve enhanced playback of other sampled sounds.
• Alternate snareline maps which allow you to choose between notating snare music on the 'C' space or the 'A' space.
• New Keymaps file containing graphical MIDI pitches for all VDL 2.5.2 instruments as well as new "hover" functionality displaying sounds which allow input variables.
• Improved suspended cymbal functionality including: corrected functionality where tied cymbal rolls would re-attack, as well as standardized consistent staff placement for crescendo rolls.
• Crossover noteheads added for snareline instruments.
• Many small fixes to notehead assignments in the template and documentation typos.

Note: If you've already purchased the 5.2.5 template, and choose not to purchase the version 6 template, the above features will not be available to you, however your 5.2.5 template will still function correctly in Sibelius 6, with the exception of this one small item that changed within Sibelius 6.

System Requirements

Windows XP/Vista or Mac 10.4 or greater. To use the template and sound set files that come within this package, you must be a registered user and have updated to Virtual Drumline 2.5.1 and Sibelius 6 or greater.
